today's google search?

"kid behavior problem"

because I can't face the dreaded Mrs. X now.

After the Bumblebee has spit on her.

I am a bad mother. Married to a bad father.

I want to cry.

hmmm, I don't know, it sounds to me like Mrs. X deserved to be spit on, she showed absolutely no respect for the kids with that mother's day gift stuff she pulled...

Besides, I think all kids go through spitting phases, I seem to remember BK doing something like that at some point, and he didn't even have a good reason.

chip, you are my new best friend.

:-) anytime, landismom!

You have a really nice blog. I found it while surfing with blogexplosion.

well, I'm thoroughly confused by this whole situation now. When Mrs. X called me yesterday, she made it sound like the Bee walked up and spit in her face (her exact words: "she got up in my face and spat on me"). When the Bee and I got home from school, I asked her to tell me her side of the story (she was in the principal's office with Mrs. X when Mrs. X called me). She said that she was sitting across the table from her (one of those big kindergarten tables), and she blew a raspberry at her. (She demonstrated the raspberry--it was wet, but still.) She specifically said, "I didn't get up and go over to her, I just stayed in my chair."

Now, I'm not defending the raspberry--it was disrespectful and wrong. But it's a lot easier for me to imagine a five year-old blowing a raspberry at someone than walking up and spitting in their face.

So now, landisdad and I have to meet with Mrs. X, to see where this is coming from. It's never easy.

You're not bad. The parent that doesn't have tough siuations come up will be the first. Don't worry about it. Just keep going and do your best!

okay, Mrs X definitely deserved a raspberry!!!

Well, we're meeting with Mrs. X today after school to talk about the incident, so we'll see what happens. I sent her a written apology from both us and the Bee, and she left me a message on my cell yesterday, thanking us, so I think things are cooling down. I don't really want to heat it up again by accusing her of mischaracterizing the situation, but I also don't want her to do that in the future, so I guess I'll have to risk it. I'm really happy that there's only a month and a half left of school, and I really hope that this woman retires before the Sweet Potato is in kindergarten!
